Our 2024 Accountant Analyst Programme is a 6-month rotational programme for soon to be and recent graduates. This programme provides a blend of education, skill building, and exposure to SIG and the capital markets industry. It will prepare you for a full-time accounting role that immediately impacts SIG’s business. You will train alongside the operations, compliance and risk teams to gain in-depth exposure to various business areas in SIG. Your rotations may include Financial Operations, Trade Support, Equity Finance, Compliance Monitoring and Risk Monitoring. Upon completing the programme, you will work within the accounting team, where you will be responsible for production of management and statutory accounts based on an in-depth understanding of the business and products traded.

Our Programme:
As a part of our Accountant Analyst Programme, you’ll have the opportunity to blend your interests in accountancy and the financial markets. Once you have completed the rotations and are on-boarded within the accounting team, you will build on your existing knowledge of accounting while learning more about the daily operations of the business lines and entities you support. You will have full ownership of the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements and general ledgers for your entities, including monthly and annual consolidated financial and regulatory reporting. SIG will also support you in pursuing your professional qualifications in accountancy (ACCA’s), all while being supported by a team of qualified accountants and tax specialists.
As the Systems Analyst & Business Support you will have a strong technical and middle office (operations) background. Providing application support to a number of applications formed from complex business logic rulesets and schemas. The production environment is a combination of in-house applications, batch processes, batch scripting and live monitoring.
Analysis of issues will require you to understand core business processes, an understanding of complex database schemas / datasets using SQL, and examination of application log files. You will also work closely with the business analysts & development teams for system bug / enhancement / BAU tracking, and with other support teams within the company (Application, infrastructure, DBA and BI teams).
The production environment can be very demanding, and you must be able to make critical decisions while working under pressure.
The Trading Operations Support team operate as part of a shift pattern and participates in early morning and out of hours support schedules when required.
Responsible for:
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
- Maintain production issues using an issue tracking system, and thereby maintain a production support knowledge base
- Communicate with end users / stakeholders on issues they are encountering and their resolution
- Interact with various internal IT support functions to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems as they happen and escalate software issues that cannot be resolved to the software development teams
- Batch Environment – take ownership of monitoring our batch schedule to ensure successful completion of batch jobs
- Live System Monitoring – monitoring of systems and automated alerts through in-house + vendor monitoring tools, constant re-evaluation of current systems to establish scope for improvement/growth
- Coordinate and perform application production deployments, ensuring change management processes are met
- Undertake key project work for the team
We are currently seeking a Colo Comms Provisioning Specialist to assist in managing our ever expanding and changing colocation and communications environment.
You will provide expertise in all aspects of carrier circuit quoting, implementation, provisioning, handover and documentation. You will regularly review existing contracts to optimise pricing and keep abreast of changes in the European carrier space for more optimal paths.
You will also be responsible for managing change in the many colocation sites that comprise our European and US trading environments. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the administration of cabinet space, power supply, cross connects, exchange connectivity and remote hands analysis.
A key skill will be your ability to manage the vendor relationships in both Colocation and Communications and be a champion of SIG's interests in both. You will assist operational teams with escalating unresolved issues and will use the relationship built up with each vendor to maximise uptime and minimise lead times for ordered products and services. You will provide a key cost management function and will provide accurate and timely reporting to the Purchasing manager for inclusion in monthly reporting; as well as submitting estimates for the annual budget review.
It is essential you have strong knowledge of the functions and operations of modern data centres, from both the physical and logical perspectives. This includes a solid understanding of cabling types, methods and terminations, latency and path options, becoming familiar with each of the European colo facilities and will be able to identify opportunities to optimise existing connectivity and give advice on the most appropriate solutions for new deployments.
This role interacts with a large number of internal stakeholders, and you will be required to work with a variety of infrastructure engineering teams, application developers, business users and project managers to assist in the creation and deployment of solutions that satisfy network or trading objectives.
They will work with colleagues in the US and Sydney offices to ensure homogenisation of global policies and practices where these are possible and collaborate on cross entity initiatives.

As the Desktop Support Engineer you will join our existing Client Triage Services team who are responsible for supporting all teams in SIG’ Dublin office. This is a very demanding and varied environment that covers (among other areas) all windows desktop issues, PC builds, software installs, peripherals (keyboards, monitors, etc.),
This role involves working in an energetic, dynamic and fast paced environment providing full support for all teams in Dublin. You will display a strong technical ability in making critical support judgements while working under pressure. Working closely with additional Technology teams in Dublin, London,Philadelphia and other 3rd party support organisations. All members of the team will participate in early morning and late evening shifts, and may also be required to support out of hours work where required.
Once in the role you will:
- Provide 1stand 2nd level support – working closely with the software development teams and system architects to provide essential primary support for all desktop software and hardware systems – using tools such as SCCM, Jira, confluence, splunk, Check_MK and wireshark.
- Experience managing, addressing and solving complex queries via ticketing system.
- Continuous evaluation and improvement of support procedures, development and implementation of required/agreed tools and associated runtime environments
- Interact with various internal IT support functions to troubleshoot and resolve problems as they happen
- Liaising with technology teams in the US and/or external vendors as required

You will be primarily responsible for Global Settlements for the SIG European companies. The role involves working closely with traders in a front office environment. You will be required to build an excellent knowledge of the products traded by SIG and also the international markets in which we operate.

- Position & Inventory management – analyse positions across exchanges, entities and PB’s to optimise settlement and cost efficiencies

As a Site Reliability Graduate Engineer at SIG, you will be working at scale from the start on challenging DevOps problems. A graduate engineer will get the opportunity to be responsible for a number of key areas. These include Infrastructure provisioning, support, monitoring, and troubleshooting, across a mix of virtual, containerised and physical workloads, all while applying a devops approach.
This role is specifically aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in Infrastructure, and is designed to develop your technical and engineering knowledge. This is an extremely broad role which involves working with all areas of the business to manage exposure and ensure compliance with all tax heads across multiple jurisdictions. As a Trading Operations Analyst you will be exposed to the full life cycle of SIGs trading activity and develop a fundamental understanding of the industry and trading environment which SIG operates in. Trading Operations work at the intersection of trading, technology, and external counterparties, where you are empowered to develop strong relationships and work on exciting, valuable projects which have real impact and contribute to our success. Working alongside our team you will develop an in-depth exposure to all the different trading desks and business areas at SIG with each rotation incorporating hands-on experience and real-time projects to add value.
