Overview

At Susquehanna, we build technology that drives global financial markets. Within our Core Trading Technology (CTT) team, you’ll design and integrate AI-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency across our trading and support systems — directly shaping how our traders and engineers work every day.

In this role, you’ll lead the integration of conversational AI technologies across regional and global business functions. You’ll partner closely with end-users to create scalable, intelligent, and secure systems that make a measurable impact.

You’ll also play a key part in establishing a local AI Services working group, collaborating with technical peers, and helping guide Susquehanna’s strategic adoption of AI and machine learning technologies across APAC.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise software using the Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, SQL Server) and other modern frameworks.

  • Develop and optimise ChatGPT-based conversational systems and intelligent automation workflows that support front-office and technology functions.

  • Architect and implement APIs and data integrations that connect chatbots with enterprise tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, and internal systems).

  • Evaluate, prototype, and integrate emerging AI/ML technologies — including vector databases, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), and MCP frameworks — to extend knowledge-driven automation.

  • Conduct data analysis, fine-tuning, and A/B testing to improve conversational accuracy and user experience.

  • Collaborate closely with global engineering, research, and trading teams to deliver AI-powered solutions aligned with business goals.

  • Lead and mentor technical contributors, guiding AI design principles and best practices across the team.

  • Support operational teams by implementing AI solutions that automate issue triage and insights retrieval.

  • Contribute to governance and AI ownership reviews to ensure responsible, efficient, and maintainable use of large language models.

  • Occasionally collaborate with global colleagues — flexibility for early or late calls may be required.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade software in C#, Java, or Python.

  • Expertise in NLP, LLMs, and conversational AI frameworks such as OpenAI API, Azure OpenAI, or similar technologies.

  • Strong background in RESTful API design, integration, and microservices architecture.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with Git-based repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.

  • Exposure to vector databases, RAG pipelines, or MCP frameworks is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and collaborate across time zones.

  • Passion for AI/ML innovation, continuous learning, and practical experimentation with emerging technologies.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Initial Projects You Might Tackle

Your work will directly contribute to Susquehanna’s AI expansion in APAC. Examples include:

  • Trader Chatbot – Improve automation of a query driven AI workflow that analyses reference data to extract key metrics and generate dashboards or alerts.

  • Network Analysis Workflow – Extend a proof of concept that uses AI and MCP data to diagnose network issues, integrating insights from Jira and Confluence.

  • Chatbot Demand Fulfilment – Deliver AI-powered chatbots that connect knowledge bases across teams and improve internal support efficiency.

  • AI Ownership Review – Evaluate and streamline ongoing AI projects (e.g., GPT-based tools) to determine optimal ownership and governance.

  • Global Coordination – Engage with regional stakeholders to collaborate on global AI solutions.

What’s In It For You

  • Flat hierarchy that empowers you to drive meaningful, technical impact from day one.

  • Private healthcare and gym allowances, plus wellness initiatives.

  • Additional leave entitlements, including marriage leave and two bonus days annually.

  • Fully stocked kitchen with daily breakfast and lunch.

  • Regular social, sporting, and community events, including our annual poker tournament.

  • Matched donations and corporate discounts.
