Overview

As a Compliance Associate based in our Shanghai office, you’ll help ensure trading activity in China complies with local regulations. You will collaborate closely with Traders, Technology, and Operations from the Compliance desk, providing timely guidance and posttrade monitoring.

 

This role is intentionally junior and built for growth. You’ll receive handson mentorship from a senior compliance lead, a structured ramp plan, and increasing ownership of defined controls and projects with visibility across APAC. In this role, you will gain direct exposure to multiasset trading (equities, fixed income, futures/ETFs, commodities/options) in a marketmaking environment, in one of the largest global prop trading firms.

 

What you’ll do

  • Perform groundwork regulatory gap analysis for new regulatory development
  • Help with compliance review on trade/account related operational document, QFI documents, regulatory reporting document etc.
  • Help explain to internal stakeholders about the technical terms in account opening documents/operational documents and cover compliance review if needed.
  • Post monitoring for QFI trades if we have internal IT solution and capacity in place
  • Help with admin/logistic matters related to business control, legal and compliance field for SSTC and SPPL QFI
  • Create and maintain confluence pages related to compliance controls, compliance projects when appropriate
  • Support BAU compliance matters for Sydney team where applicable
  • Act as a backup in terms of product advisory compliance/SSTC general compliance matters.

What we’re looking for

  • Finance, Legal or relevant Bachelor and/or Masters education in with strong IT literacy.
  • 1 to 3 years professional experience within Financial Services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in
  • Prior exposure to equity and/or derivative markets.
  • Strong conceptual understanding of IT compliance systems, including development, review, and testing.
  • Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence senior trading staff.
