Overview

Susquehanna is a global quantitative trading firm founded by a group of friends who shared a passion for game theory and probabilistic thinking. When breaking news changes the game, what trade do you recommend in the next 10 seconds? We rely on our Equity Research analysts to be on the front lines of market information to translate it into trading ideas.

As an Equity Research intern, your primary focus will be on gaining a deep understanding of the financial markets and the skills needed to excel in the industry. You will observe and participate in monitoring a diverse set of stocks and situations across various sectors and macro themes whilst learning how to identify market opportunities in equities, options and ETFs. As you will be exposed to the day-to-day activities of a buy-side strategy-focused trading desk, the emphasis will be on building your knowledge and developing the analytical and strategic skills required for success. You'll work closely with experienced professionals, gaining insights into market dynamics, trading strategies, and the importance of effective communication, all aimed at providing you with a solid foundation for a career in Susquehanna.

What we’re looking for

  • Market Enthusiast: Keeping up to date on current events and breaking news that affect the markets is something you naturally enjoy. From company/sector specific news to macro stories, you are up to date on recent headlines.
  • Collaborator: You enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with. You enjoy sharing ideas and expressing your thoughts based on your own research whilst combining the expert’s opinion to come to the best trading decisions.
  • Numerical & Logical: When it comes to decision making, you use clear and sound reasoning. You’re rational and like to use numbers and data from historic events to come up with current trade ideas.
  • Ambitious: You constantly set yourself goals in life and give your all to achieve them. Be it in Arts, Sports, Academics or another passion you have, you’re not afraid to put in the effort to reach your full potential.
  • Curious: You’re eager to find out more about what it’s like to work in the Finance sector, and specifically Equity Research. Have a passion and identifiable interest in the financial markets and current affairs.
  • Class of 2026 or 2027: Successful interns are invited back as graduates to join our Equity Research Analyst Graduate Programme. Depending on when you graduate, you will be invited to join our graduate programme in either January or September 2026.

What's in it for you

  • Education: Susquehanna’s in-house education programme is widely recognised as being the best in the industry. You will attend regular seminars to learn about options and the decision-making strategies that our traders employ. You will also be assigned a mentor from the Equity Research team to guide you along the way.
  • Real Impact: You will work collaboratively with research analysts and traders on your desk to develop trade ideas on your allocated basket of stocks and provide real-time opinions on breaking news throughout the trading day.
  • Culture: Our culture allows employees of every level to thrive. We are not your typical trading firm – the environment is casual, collaborative and we focus on continuous development, no matter how long you’ve been in Susquehanna.
  • Perks: Based in the heart of Ireland’s Financial Services Centre, and a 10-minute walk from Dublin’s city centre, our employees avail of free onsite catering, a games room, and a large in house gym, to name but a few of our favourite perks. You will have the opportunity to attend multiple social events hosted by Susquehanna.
