Susquehanna is looking for a Storage Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team in Sydney. What you’ll do

 

You will take ownership of the technology solutions for our Production Enterprise Storage Infrastructure. Specifically, being tasked with the deployment and management of our Storage, Backup and Data Governance environment.  

Monitoring, troubleshoot and initiate corrective action across our multi-petabyte enterprise storage environment. You will manage and optimize storage solutions across a multi-vendor environment running technologies from Pure Storage, NetApp, VAST and CommVault. Additionally, you will be up to date with emerging technologies whilst working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure SIG’s storage environment meets both current and future business needs. 

Your expertise will allow you to enable other business units to meet their storage requirements in new jurisdictions in the APAC region.  

  • Deploy, administer and support network attached storage (NAS) devices in SIG’s enterprise infrastructure. 
  • Deploy, administer and support SIG’s enterprise backup infrastructure (tape libraries, disk libraries and backup software) 
  • Creation and maintenance of supporting documentation and knowledge transfer to other team members. 
  • Automation of daily tasks and operations across multiple storage platforms. 
  • Monitoring, reporting and proactive diagnosis of systems health and performance 
  • Participate in general areas of system administration within the Compute and Storage Platforms team

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a NAS storage and Backup administration role. 
  • Linux & Windows administration skills in enterprise environments and experience with storage integration and support with both Operating Systems. 
  • Candidate must demonstrate understanding of foundation systems engineering concepts, such as TCP/IP, operating system theory, distributed computing concepts (i.e. DNS, NFS), web based application architectures and traditional application architectures. 
  • Storage integration experience with Hypervisors technologies such as VMware, Citrix Xen and Hyper-V 
  • Proficiency in Commvault – backup / archive management and configuration 
  • Systems Administration level knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Group Policy. 
  • Automation and Scripting skills are highly advantageous for this role, knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible is also preferred. 
  • Knowledge and experience with relational and conventional database technology MySQL, SQL server and Oracle experience 
  • in a technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
