This strategic role supports Susquehanna’s European trading business, directly influencing long-term business direction and real-time trading decisions. You will help to drive market expansion, market structure development, and ensure seamless integration of new initiatives and products into our trading environment. Working closely with senior traders, finance and operations teams, the role focuses on providing critical insights into structural changes impacting trading dynamics, ensuring we remain well-informed of key market developments. By continuously identifying inefficiencies and updating traders on changing trading mechanics, this position will play a crucial role in maintaining the firm’s competitive edge in both electronic and block markets.

The ideal candidate for this role is a self-driven professional with a keen interest in trading dynamics coupled with a broad European focused market knowledge. They should have an entrepreneurial mindset and be an enthusiastic learner who can work well in a fast-paced trading environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide analysis of our trading and market making behaviour.
• Continuously update traders on market developments, including new products, rule changes, liquidity shifts, and emerging opportunities.
• Source and integrate data sets that help better inform our trading decisions.
• Build relationships with exchanges, brokers, and industry bodies to help influence change.
• Work with internal teams to optimize exchange issues, execution technology, and post-trade processes.

• 3rd level degree preferably in finance, mathematics or business-related disciplines is desirable.
• 3+ years of previous work experience at a financial institution, exchange and/or trading firm.
• Experience with European equity and/or derivatives trading and market structure.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Effective problem solving and analytical skills; including effective troubleshooting in a fast paced, time critical environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work across disciplines and quickly transition from one project to another.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office. Some exposure to SQL and python an advantage.
