Overview

As an Equity or Macro Analyst on Susquehanna's Research team, you will partner with our senior analysts and traders to identify investment opportunities. Research analysts provide in-depth country and sector-level analysis and provide opinions as new information emerges throughout the trading day.

 

You will be responsible for finding opportunities that other market participants may not be capitalising on, either by discovering new information or considering existing knowledge from a different perspective. This role provides the unique opportunity to combine the quantitative aspects of finance with creative problem solving in order to develop trade ideas in a fast-paced proprietary trading environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and analyse investment opportunities in the equity and options markets
  • Identify and analyse catalyst events and provide opinions on the possible impacts to the market, for the stocks or sector under coverage
  • Provide real-time opinions on breaking news
  • Collaborate with derivative traders on investment ideas
  • Perform stock valuation analysis and forecast dividends
  • Evaluate special situations such as mergers and acquisitions and other corporate actions
  • Travel to company events and conferences as required

What we’re looking for

  • ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of relevant professional Equity/Macro or Investment Research experience 
  • Familiarity with a trading environment and derivative products preferred
  • Working knowledge of all major asset classes (e.g. fixed income, equities, commodities, forex) beneficial but not required
  • Prior exposure to fundamental company research preferred
  • Degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline, distinction average WAM.
  • Market Enthusiasts: Keeping up to date on current events and breaking news that affect the markets is something you naturally enjoy.
  • From company/sector specific news to macro stories, you are up to date on recent headlines.
  • Effective CommunicatorsYou enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with. You enjoy sharing ideas and expressing your thoughts based on your own research whilst combining the expert’s opinion to come to the best trading decisions – excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must for this role!
  • You possess strong written, analytical, and financial research skills
  • Analytical + LogicalWhen it comes to decision making, you use clear and sound reasoning.
  • You’re rational and like to use analytical data and financial research skills to come up with sensible solutions.
  • You are a natural problem solver, you enjoy solving puzzles and love it when you discover a solution to a difficult problem, with a demonstrated interest in strategic games and/or competitive activities.
  • CuriousYou’re excited by a career in the financial markets and the reasons why markets move in the way they do.
  • You're a self-starter, a quick learner, an effective communicator, and resourceful in solving problems
