Overview

Our Python software engineers are employed in building, maintaining and supporting systems which are fundamental to our success and competitiveness in the current trading environment. These systems include quantitative study environments and data pipelines, the generation/visualisation of trading data and publication of trading signals. We constantly improve these systems so they are stable, fast and easy to use by our Quants and Traders.

 

Job Summary

  • Part of the GDFI Analytics Development team
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of our Python-based systems
  • Work closely with Quantitative Researchers, Traders and Developers to develop pricing and trading signal systems
  • Work with large datasets to set up and maintain production-quality data pipelines

What we’re looking for

 

  • Degree in Computer Science or other science or technical field
  • Extensive experience with the Python language and the Python scientific stack
  • Experience building efficient, scalable systems
  • Experience of distributed message-based systems and server-side software development
  • Experience developing web services with Javascript/Typescript
  • Proven product delivery success
  • Full software development life cycle experience and exposure to agile software development
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and to propose novel technical solutions
  • The ability to self-manage, self-motivate, and seek process improvement opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with Quantitative Researchers, Traders and other Developers
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation and ability to react to changing priorities
  • Willingness to participate and provide assistance in the deployment and maintenance of our production software
