Overview

As a Site Reliability Graduate Engineer at SIG, you will be working at scale from the start on challenging DevOps problems. A graduate engineer will get the opportunity to be responsible for a number of key areas. These include Infrastructure provisioning, support, monitoring, and troubleshooting, across a mix of virtual, containerised and physical workloads, all while applying a devops approach.

 

 

This role is specifically aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in Infrastructure, and is designed to develop your technical and engineering knowledge. There will be an initial focus on honing your infrastructure skills such as Server builds, Windows/Linux Administration, Python and Power shell scripting, Monitoring and DevOps practices. You will work with experienced engineers and given exposure to support and project work in our production environment.

 

Who you are:

  • Technical:
  • You will be studying towards a degree in a computer related or engineering discipline
  • Some operating Systems & network troubleshooting skills, an understanding of infrastructure architectures,
  • A scripting language like PowerShell/Python would be desirable
  • A proven track record of extracurricular interest in technology
  • Problem Solver: When it comes to solving problems, you use clear and sound reasoning. You’re rational and like to use numbers and data to come up with sensible solutions
  • Curious: You’re eager to learn and develop new technologies. You’re inquisitive and creative, questioning the status quo. You have a fascination with the why and are unable to accept that things “just work”.
