  • Overview

    An opportunity exists for a Networks Administrator/Engineer to join the Infrastructure team in Sydney. In this role, you will gain exposure to a large and complex network topology across APAC.

     

    You will join a collaborative team responsible for monitoring, maintaining and providing support for the firm’s enterprise and trading network. 

     

    In addition to troubleshooting issues across our environment, your job is to find innovative solutions to problems. You will get the opportunity to give input on network design decisions and participate in network device deployments. 

     

    Our team actively collaborates with other technologists and business teams. The best network is created by understanding of business demands. 

     

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Administration and Support of the Networks & Security infrastructure across the APAC region.
    • Administration & development of build and deployment mechanisms, support systems and procedures.
    • Collaborate and communicate with colleagues in Bala (USA) and Dublin (Ireland).
    • Negotiate and liaise with providers of services and solutions.
    • Coordinate with the Global team to roll out projects and improvements locally.
    • Some work/support after hours or on weekends is expected

    What we’re looking for

    • 3-8 years’ experience within the finance or comparable industry.
    • Experience in LAN network support, specifically troubleshooting OSI Layer 1-3 problems
    • Experience with Networks technologies; Cisco, Arista, MPLS, Routing (BGP) etc.
    • CCNP, CCIE or equivalent qualifications is an advantage.
    • Scripting experience in Python or Perl or similar programming languages
    • Demonstrated knowledge of internet protocols, wiring standards, Ethernet and wireless technologies
    • Great problem solving and logical thinking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Experience with Ansible or equivalent configuration management tools
    • Experience with Data Centre environments (racking and cabling) is an advantage
    • Organizational ability or project management skill is an advantage
