SIG Founded in 1987, SIG has grown from an options trading firm on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange to one of the world’s largest privately held financial institutions. Today, with offices around the world, we trade almost every major financial product, and we are recognized for our disciplined and quantitative trading approach, and our leading-edge trading systems. We established our European headquarters in Dublin 18 years ago and now employ over 500 people here in Trading, Technology, Research, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and HR.
As a software engineer at SIG you will be developing and delivering multiple trading applications to our in-house traders for use across many of the European exchanges we connect to. These complex applications are usually client side (although there are some server side components). Applications can be real time or post trade, but usually deal with large volumes of data and complex pattern analysis or calculations.
This role will require extensive interaction with end users and senior members of the internal Technology, Operations, Trading and Compliance teams as well as external counterparties (e.g. trading exchanges).
You will be working in an agile development team which has an in-depth knowledge of the European regulations and how to apply these using our own in-house developed software solutions.
As part of the team you will be tasked with developing and maintain applications that are at an enterprise level (i.e. independent of trading strategies and trading desks) and which perform real time monitoring and alerting on abnormal trading activity. You will be exposed to exchange protocols, developing real time applications with high data rates, RV and WCF protocols, and test driven development.
