    We offer fantastic internship opportunities in our Dublin office.  The infrastructure area is responsible for researching, designing and implementing the full trading capability for the European office, using leading edge hardware and software technologies.  A SIG Internship allows you to get involved with development teams that are competing at a world-class level in the financial sector.

You will work as part of an existing infrastructure team ( Systems, Network, Application support and platform Engineering)  team which allows you real life experience with  teams that are competing at a world-class level in the financial sector.

     

    As part of your internship you will be guided and assisted by senior engineers and have the opportunity to work as part of the team with a focus on developing and rolling out tools to provide visibility on the workings of the production trading network.

     

     

    What we’re looking for

    The candidate will work with the Infrastructure team with a focus on developing and rolling out tools to provide visibility on the workings of the production trading network.

     

    The candidate will be guided and assisted by senior network and security engineers and have the opportunity to see applications go from initial specification to full production.

     

    The candidate will be required to work with a minimal amount of supervisionYou will be studying towards a degree in a computer related discipline with some experience of:

    • A deep level of understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite.
    • Familiarity with networking technologies such as switching and routing.
    • A scripting language e.g. Perl, Python
    • Databases and a basic understanding of SQL
    • An understanding of Data Science and Analytics
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with traders and other members of the technology team.

     

     

    Duration:  5 – 12 Months
