Our Trading Internship is the perfect opportunity for high performing students interested in a quantitative role within the financial markets. The internship provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into quantitative trading on international exchanges for students who are about to enter their final year in University.
Working from our modern and fun Dublin office, this could be the first step of your career in trading. You will be immersed in SIG’s unrivalled education programme that teaches the skill of making rational decisions in an environment of uncertainty.
The Trading Internship
The internship will combine classroom based education, taught by our education team and senior traders, and research-based projects for a trading desk.
Along with fellow interns, you’ll be exposed to simulations of options floor trading to help you gain a deeper understanding of the risks associated with trading options, how best to hedge these risks, and ultimately how to apply game theory to your trading.
Throughout the internship you’ll attend poker sessions to hone your decision making skills and teach you to employ a mathematical approach to the decisions you make.
Please note this role is for applicants looking for an offcycle internship (If you are seeking a summer internship, please apply to the "Trading Summer Internship - 2019" role on our careers page). Successful interns may be invited back to join our Assistant Quantitative Trader Programme upon graduation from University.
Our Trading Interns are the brightest students who have a strong work ethic and the determination to match. The best traders excel in an area they are passionate about - be it gaming, sports, or the arts, while also having outstanding quantitative and maths skills.
We successfully recruit students from a variety of academic backgrounds. Experience in, or knowledge of, financial markets is not required as our unrivalled education programme will equip you with the training you need to become a successful trader, although we welcome those with an interest in the area.
Interested students should include a short cover letter and a CV in one document. The cover letter should address why you are interested in trading, and the dates you are available for an offcylce internship.
**We hire for this internship on a rolling basis, and therefore strongly encourage students to apply early. Applications for this programme will close on Friday, 7th December 2018, however, we have in previous years closed applications early due to the volume of applications received.**
