Are you someone who constantly strives to be the best? We are looking for top graduates with a mathematical mind-set who are ambitious, driven, and determined to succeed in a top-performing, global quantitative trading firm. Working from our modern and fun Dublin office, you will begin your career in trading by being immersed in our industry-renowned education programme.
We believe in working collaboratively in order to succeed in a highly competitive market. Our flat organisational structure empowers traders to develop an entrepreneurial mind-set and gives them the responsibility to make decisions.
The Quantitative Trader programme
This programme is the start of a challenging, fast paced and rewarding career in trading as our Quantitative Traders are seen as the future of SIG. From the beginning, you’ll be exposed to a mix of classroom based training and hands-on, practical experience, teaching you the skill of making rational decisions in an environment of uncertainty.
Quantitative Traders work within a trading team on one of our many strategies. Their primary role is to support the traders in the execution of trading strategies. The day-to-day work includes handling trades, maintaining systems, and interpreting information that may affect trading strategies. As Quantitative Traders progress and master the trading strategy, they will be responsible for making independent trading decisions. Quantitative Traders also participate in trading exercises which allow the application of theoretical and practical knowledge in a realistic simulation environment.
Successful Quantitative Traders will be invited to participate in SIG’s formal 10-week training class in our US headquarters, learning from our founding partners who have over 30 years’ experience in the industry.
Our Quantitative Traders are the brightest graduates who have a strong work ethic and the determination to match. The best traders excel in an area they are passionate about - be it gaming, sports, or the arts, while also having outstanding quantitative and maths skills.
We successfully recruit students from a variety of academic backgrounds. Experience in, or knowledge of, financial markets is not required as our unrivalled education programme will equip you with the training you need to become a successful trader, although we welcome those with an interest in the area.
Interested students are encouraged to include a short cover letter and a CV in one document. The cover letter should address why you are interested in trading.
**We hire on a rolling basis. Applications for this programme will close on Friday 23rd November 2018, however, we have in previous years closed applications early due to the volume of applications received.**
We don't post salary ranges externally so any salary estimate you see listed on a third party website was not provided by SIG and may not be accurate.
SIG is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms.
