Overview

As a security intern, you'll learn how security technologies and practices can be applied to defend against today's threats by administering, supporting, and implementing technologies that manage and control access, detect and prevent malware and attacks, identify vulnerabilities and more.   This role will provide broad exposure to a myriad of information security technologies including Firewalls, Authentication and Encryption Technologies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Antivirus, Remote Access, as well as Web and Email Security controls.  You'll need strong operating systems and TCP/IP knowledge and a passion for security to get started, but we can teach you the rest.  Our goal is to provide you with an incredible learning experience through hands-on learning, challenging projects, and unparalleled mentorship.

 

Our Interns Have:

  • Researched and implemented a password vaulting and sharing tool for use by technology teams at SIG
  • Designed and implemented a disc encryption solution for use with Amazon Cloud
  • Created automation tools in Python for security log analysis, incident detection and response
  • Worked on lab performance and feature testing of new firewall technologies

What we’re looking for

  • Students pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or a similar technical major
  • Strong grasp of TCP/IP, networking, operating systems fundamentals is required
  • Hands on experience with networking, Windows/Linux server, or firewall administration is preferred
  • Coding is a plus (We use Python, Perl, Bash and PowerShell the most)
