Overview

SIG's institutional business is looking for an Equity Research Sales Associate to market SIG and our products. SIG has an established and growing fundamental research product and we are looking for more talent to continue that success. SIG research serves institutional investment managers by providing differentiated analysis as well as unique Market Intelligence.

We are seeking an Institutional Research Sales Associate to work closely with a senior producing sales manager. A successful Research Sales Associate will work extremely well in a small team environment while delivering the various resources of the firm. The job offers excellent exposure to the financial markets and provides a strong career path in sales.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Have the opportunity to learn SIG’s differentiated, fundamental and ranked equity research product from a generalist sales perspective through daily morning sales calls, research distribution and internal analyst meetings.
  • Work with various internal groups, such as Research Analysts, Sales-Trading, Trading, Derivatives, Special Situations and Corporate Access to facilitate client requests.
  • Work closely with senior sales members in the distribution of SIG Research and Corporate Access to buy-side clients (Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, and Pension Funds).
  • Assist in the development of SIG’s business prospects from current customers, referrals and networking.
  • Coordinate, attend and hosts client meetings, dinners and business gatherings with corporate management teams and SIG Research Analysts.
  • Perform general administrative support tasks including expense report processing, coordination of client lunch and transportation requests, contact list maintenance, upkeep of client interest lists based on SIG research overlay, and other general duties as needed on the Sales desk.
  • Interact with company management and institutional investors

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree required - finance, economics, engineering or mathematics concentrations preferred.
  • Interest in achieving the CFA designation, Series 7/63 preferred.
  • Ideal candidate with 1-3 years professional experience.
  • Excellent research, writing, communication, and organization skills; candidates must be very detail oriented.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Independent thinker and self-starter with the motivation to learn about and excel in a dynamic industry
  • Must possess a professional demeanor with strong interpersonal, organization, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Must be comfortable working both independently and in a large team environment.

  • Must display energy, drive, stamina, and be flexible and willing to adapt to changing and dynamic situations.
