We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our Operations and Accounting Technology team. This team builds and supports applications that are critical to the firm’s post-trade workflows, financial reporting, and operational processes. You will work closely with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure the quality and reliability of a diverse set of applications. You’ll be responsible for both manual and automated testing across a range of systems and integrations, as well as owning and executing frequent production releases in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and execute test plans and test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes
  • Perform a combination of manual and automated testing across multiple applications and environments
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and tools (primarily using C#)
  • Configure and manage test environments and test data
  • Identify, document, and track defects; partner with developers to drive timely resolution
  • Support integration, regression, and production verification testing
  • Own and execute production releases, including coordination, validation, and post-release verification
  • Troubleshoot issues across environments, including production, to identify root causes and improve test coverage
  • Collaborate closely with developers and fellow testers throughout the SDLC
  • Communicate test status, risks, release readiness, and priorities clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple parallel workstreams

What Sets this Role Apart:

  • Direct ownership of production releases for critical operational systems
  • High-impact systems supporting financial and operational processes
  • Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and strong prioritization
  • Collaborative team culture with close interaction between testers, developers, and business users
  • Opportunity to build both technical depth (automation) and operational ownership

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in software testing (manual + automated)
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and understand how they support operational and accounting workflows
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team of testers and developers
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with:
    • Test planning and execution across complex systems
    • Automated testing using C# or similar object-oriented languages
    • SQL for data validation, querying, and troubleshooting
    • Debugging, log analysis, and issue triage
    • Production releases, deployment processes, or release coordination
  • Preferred experience with:
    • Financial systems, accounting platforms, or operational workflows
    • Testing system integrations or data pipelines
    • CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
