Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced business manager to lead European FP&A efforts as part of our global FP&A team. This role will leverage the systems and data of our FP&A function based in the US and will build on existing cost allocation/tracking processes and MI reporting to support strategic decision making for Susquehanna's European business. This role will be the primary contact for European cost transparency, partnering closely with domain experts and the broader FP&A team to support European senior management. Role requires provision of insights beyond just reporting numbers, helping management address matters proactively.

This role will give you the opportunity to gain exposure to our trading operations and work closely with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced trading environment. You will possess technical expertise as well as a proactive mindset, someone who enjoys problem solving, learning new things and finding better ways of working.

Major activities and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leverage and enhance existing cost reporting and analysis, ensuring transparency, consistency, and alignment with business strategy
  • Define cost drivers and allocation principles across trading desks, strategies, and support functions
  • Develop variance analytics against budget.
  • Own the ongoing maintenance and evolution of cost reporting and analysis as the business grows and changes
  • Leverage and enhance existing MI reporting for senior management to deliver high quality reports, including:
    • Cost performance vs budget
    • Cost-to-income and cost efficiency metrics by desk/strategy
    • Trend analysis and forward-looking insight
  • Develop clear, decision-oriented reporting packs suitable for senior management
  • Ensure MI is scalable and aligned with broader FP&A reporting approaches, automated where possible, and fit for a high-growth, high-complexity environment.
  • Lead the annual budget process for the European business, in alignment with global planning processes and timelines
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders across SIG.
  • Work closely with the broader FP&A team to align methodologies, reporting standards, and governance.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholder
  • Establish governance around cost attribution, data quality, and reporting standards.
  • Partner with Technology and Operations to improve underlying data flows and systems.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance cost discipline and operational efficiency
  • Support strategic initiatives, desk-level reviews, and decision making through detailed cost analysis.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from senior management with tight turnaround times.

What we’re looking for

  • Accounting or Finance Qualification ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
  • 4 + years experience in FP&A or similar analytical/reporting role, preferably within financial services.
  • Demonstrable experience building MI reporting or cost frameworks from scratch rather than inheriting an established process.
  • Advanced excel skills and strong data manipulation capability as well as experience with analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Clear communicator able to simplify complex financial concepts
  • Proactive, self-starting, and resilient in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take ownership of processes including introducing automation and other workflow improvements.
  • Periodic travel to our headquarters in the US may be required
