Overview

Susquehanna is looking for an Operations Analyst to join our Sydney office. As an Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for helping the day to day running of the back office for Susquehanna. This will entail position reconciliations, ensuring trades are captured in an efficient and timely manner and positions are accurate and reconciled to external brokers, produce accurate daily Profit and Loss, and ensure a strong control framework throughout the complete trade life cycle, whilst support the growth of the organisation.

 

What you’ll do

  • Reconciliation of position, cash, and trade activity prior to Market open.
  • Ability to reconcile front office estimates to prime broker reporting.
  • Analysing Accruals including Capital & Interest charges, expenses, and commissions
  • Price Validation of Trader EOD close prices.
  • Liaise with external parties to resolve any position/cash discrepancies.
  • Contribute to system improvement to help streamline daily processes.
  • Support the business in its growth and expansion into new products and Markets.
  • Working with legal and compliance for onboarding new relationships
  • Support desk to effectively manage their Margin obligations.
  • Maintaining and managing operational processes as per regulatory framework 

What we’re looking for

  • 4 + years of experience, working in a similar role within the financial markets
  • A person who excels in a fast-moving environment, self-starter, and resourceful in solving problems
  • Operational knowledge of financial markets
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of handling trade flow through to settlement.
  • Knowledge of Equity Derivatives and Equities. Commodity knowledge a bonus.
  • Knowledge/Experience of Asian Markets a preference
  • Ability to build strong and positive relationships both internally and with Broker contacts.
  • Strive for efficiencies and to challenge the status quo to drive changes.
  • Ability to prioritise based on materiality and risk considerations.
  • Analytical mindset when tackling issues.
  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA and Python would be highly regarded
