Overview

At Susquehanna, we view information security as pivotal to the success of our technology organization and our firm as a whole, and our Security team is crucial in protecting our information assets and technology. Our Security team
focuses on making sound risk based decisions, and not check-box compliance. We are now looking for a
Security Engineer to join this team.
The team partners with business and technical stakeholders across the full stack. You will work as a member of
our global Security Team providing operational, engineering and consultation support across the areas of
security monitoring, vulnerability management and perimeter/endpoint controls.
You will gain exposure to a large and complex network topology, learn how security technologies and practices
can be applied to defend against today's threats by administering, supporting, and implementing technologies
that manage and control access, identify vulnerabilities and more.
The role will provide you with broad exposure to a myriad of information security technologies including
Firewalls, Authentication Encryption Technologies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Antivirus and Remote Access.

 

Essential fundamentals you will gain by joining SIG Dublin’s Information Security Team:

 

  • You will get to work on a variety of security challenges and technologies across all aspects of our
    technology footprint. Even in projects where we are not directly involved in engineering solutions, the
    Security team are expected to ensure that our security and risk standards are adhered to.
  • Our Engineers are given the freedom, flexibility and resources to solve problems creatively and
    develop the most appropriate solution – this may range from buying/implementing vendor tools,
    rolling your sleeves up and developing custom solutions from the ground up, adapting open source
    solutions to meet SIG’s needs, or implementing process and policy controls when technology
    solutions are not available.
  • You don’t have to choose between researching, architecting and implementing solutions. You will
    have the opportunity to work on problems requiring big picture thinking, but will remain hands on
    with technology as you manage and execute large technical projects to drive growth with SIG’s
    security infrastructure.
  • You will be part of a truly global security program. The security team here in Dublin is one part of the
    firm’s Global security team, so you will have the opportunity to travel and work with your colleagues
    in other offices in order to build and maintain solid relationships.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline required; education can
    substitute for experience
  • 7+ Years’ Experience in Network, systems engineering, architecture or administration, team lead exp
    is a plus
    Or
  • 7+ years of information security experience over any security domain – security engineering, security
    administration, security analyst and/or penetration testing Understanding of information security
    concepts, and common attacks and mitigation techniques.
  • Demonstrable evidence of Python, PowerShell or similar scripting language required
  • Strong grasp of TCP/IP, routing, and switching fundamentals and ability to do basic network
    administration and/or troubleshooting.
  • Strong grasp of operating systems fundamentals and ability to do basic Windows and/or Linux
    administration and/or troubleshooting
